I promised you a run down of features, both new and old ones, that you can find on The Vinyl Vault Show.  Some of the features will appear in each show, but not all of them.

 

REQUESTS

What can I say about this feature, it's very much down to you, our listeners.  If you submit a request and we can play it, we will.

 

Ahh, I've just said "If we can play it" and that requires a bit of explanation.  Because we broadcast our shows on Twitch, as well as on Radio, we have to abide by the stricter rule sets for each format, and merge them where we can.  Twitch requires all streamers who stream recorded music as the prime focus of their stream (like a radio show) to be members of their "DJ Program" which has a list of tracks that we can't play, because they can't get licenses for, so we can't play them on our streams.  Notable artists that we can't play include Genesis, Phil Collins, Fleetwood Mac and Dolly Parton.

 

HALFPAST DOUBLE SHOT

Every hour on or around the half hour, we play 2 tracks, that are either by the same artist, or are linked in some other, hopefully pretty obvious way.    Its as simple as that!

 

7" SHUFFLE WHEEL

Dex has a preloaded, selection of 7" singles that are always on the desk, and from time to time throughout a show, the wheel may be spun, and whatever track it lands on, Dex has to play, immediately.

 

NEXT ARTIST STARTS WITH ... WHEEL

When we spin this wheel, it will throw a letter into the chat, and no matter the letter, the next track that plays the artist will start with that letter.  A - Z, Abba to ZZ Top.  In Q, we have more artists than just Queen!

 

FEATURED ON SHOW IMAGE

Dex spends a little while, preparing each show, and for each show, he generates a picture for the website, which has 4 release sleeve images on it.  If a track is listed as "featured on show image" it comes from one of those releases.

 

There are some features you might be accustomed to hearing on The Vinyl Vault Show that aren't listed here, that doesn't mean they are gone, I'm actively working on restructuring and creating new jingles for some of the old features.  I'm trying to restructure how I do features like the GOLDEN YEAR and LEFTING.  Once they are reimagined, I will post about them separately, and they will make a welcome return to the show.
